📋 Tour details
Get a local's perspective on Christmas traditions and culture while exploring some of Budapest's best inner-city sights. Your tour begins with a peek into the State Opera House, followed by a stroll along the decorated Andrássy Avenue, Hungary's Champs-Élysées.
Budapest's Christmas fairs have been chosen as the best in Europe for several years, as only local artisans and small manufacturers are allowed to sell their handcrafted products. A glowing Christmas market awaits you in front of St. Stephen's Basilica. Your guide will then lead you inside Budapest's largest Roman Catholic church for a tour. You'll walk through the market, sipping mulled wine and tasting the famous chimney cake.
Next, you'll visit the illuminated Parliament and see Hungary's magnificent Christmas tree in the square. From the Danube, you'll enjoy a stunning panorama of the Buda Castle District and Matthias Church.
The tour continues along the Danube Corso to the second Christmas market on Vörösmarty Square where also daily concerts and shows are held on the stage. Your guide will leave you here to explore and do some holiday shopping. Just off this square, you'll find the famous Váci Street and Budapest's Fashion Street, where many shops offer more shopping opportunities.
