Tour details
Your walking tour begins at the Opera House, where you'll take a short ride on the Millennium Metro to Heroes’ Square and City Park. Here, you’ll be introduced to Hungary's rich history and culture. Next, you’ll walk through City Park to visit Vajdahunyad Castle and see Szechenyi Baths to learn about the country's unique bath culture.
Afterward, you’ll head over to see St. Stephen’s Basilica before taking a break at the iconic Strudel House for drinks and strudel. After your refreshment break, you’ll head down to the riverside to see the famous blue Danube. On the way, you’ll learn about the communist era at Liberty Square, and at the Danube, you can admire the magnificent Parliament building. Here, you’ll take in the spectacular view of the UNESCO World Heritage panorama with Buda Castle, Matthias Church, Royal Palace, and Gellert Hill with the Citadel.
From the Chain Bridge, you will cross the Danube by bus, and after a short walk through the Castle District, you’ll approach Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. From this vantage point, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city.
